You know those awesome birthday celebrations that last a full week? Well, Ramez Naam’s book APEX comes by it naturally! Last week marked the digital release. Today it’s out in print! So yet another happy book birthday to Ramez Naam for APEX, which Amazon has declared a Best Book of the Month!
Next week’s excitement is THE HANGED MAN by P.N. Elrod, the first in a really exciting, all-new series. Seriously, all, you do NOT want to miss this!
On a freezing Christmas Eve in 1879, a forensic psychic reader is summoned from her Baker Street lodgings to the scene of a questionable death. Alexandrina Victoria Pendlebury (named after her godmother, the current Queen of England) is adamant that the death in question is a magically compromised murder and not a suicide, as the police had assumed, after the shocking revelation contained by the body in question, Alex must put her personal loss aside to uncover the deeper issues at stake, before more bodies turn up.
Turning to some choice allies–the handsome, prescient Lieutenant Brooks, the brilliant, enigmatic Lord Desmond, and her rapscallion cousin James–Alex will have to marshal all of her magical and mental acumen to save Queen and Country from a shadowy threat. Our singular heroine is caught up in this rousing gaslamp adventure of cloaked assassins, meddlesome family, and dark magic.
“Murder, mayhem and tea–a well-bred Victorian urban fantasy thriller. Prepare, o reader, to be enthralled.”–Patricia Briggs, #1 New York Times Best Selling Author of the Mercy Thompson series on P.N. Elrod’s The Hanged Man
In other news, my own Latter-Day Olympians series has some new additions coming this fall! BATTLE FOR THE BLOOD, which is already out in digital, will see print on September 1st. You can check out a teaser for it in this month’s BTS Book Reviews here! Book five, BLOOD HUNT, will be releasing in both print and digital on October 20th!
I’m going to take a bit of time off this summer from writing novels and short fiction to work on the Goddities website! Those of you who read the Latter-Day Olympians series know that my heroine’s grandmother, Yiayia, runs a kind of on-line gossip rag for the gods. I’ve wanted to actually put this together for some time now, and this summer I think I’m actually going to do it. So, look for some godly gossip coming this fall! For those who haven’t read the series, the book order is below:
I hope you’ll give it a chance, because well, among others, Hermes must be heard. Really, he insists.
